Letters From Leton: Santa Claus is Watching

For kids, this can be a stressful time.

Why do you say?

Well, they are told by many sources that the man with eyes and ears everywhere (Santa Claus) is watching to see if they are being naughty or nice. Geez, what pressure for a kid, as we know that being a “naughty kid” is their (our) natural state. It comes with being curious, having lots of energy, less fear, and little experience.

In life and business, adults also watch.

  • They will note how friendly and knowledgeable the help staff are.
  • They will note if fellow employees step up to help out or find convenient ways to avoid work and put the burden back on them.
  • They will note if a bank does little things (like Letters to Santa) that bring wonder and amazement to kids.
My mom and dad always told me to do the right thing, the good thing, even if no one is around to notice. It is a basic tenet of my life and a way to keep the old man (Santa) in my corner this time of year!

Merry Christmas! – Leton
