Jonesville, Virginia–Powell Valley National Bank (PVB, Bank) is pleased to announce Mickey Byrd has joined the bank as Senior Investment Advisor.

Byrd began his career in financial services in 2006 after several years as a retail manager. For 13 years, Mickey served as a Lincoln Financial Group retirement consultant for Mountain States Health Alliance and later with Ballad Health. During that time, he was promoted to a Senior Retirement Consultant and later to the Lead Retirement Consultant for the Midwest region.  In December of 2020, Mickey opened his own financial planning firm with Lincoln Financial Advisors.

Mickey grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1994.  He and his wife, Amy, moved to Johnson City in 2003 along with their sons, Chance and Esau.  Amy works in the College of Nursing at ETSU and Chance currently works with Oak Ridge National Labs. Esau, the youngest, is a senior at UVA Wise and is a member of the Cavalier baseball team.     

The Byrd family are sports fanatics and have spent many family vacations traveling around the country to attend various sporting events. Some of their most memorable trips were to see the annual Army/Navy football game, the Rose and Sugar Bowls, and the MLB All Star Game. They are also big fans of the Vols and the ETSU Bucs.
