Financial doctor

Letters From Leton: Say AHH!

A gift that often comes with the end of the Holiday Season is a cold, a virus, or the flu from being around so many folks. It is a gift that you not only receive, but you pass around as well. While medical professionals (Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Aides, and others) are usually appreciated,  it is never more so than this time of year when illnesses can run rampant.

Having a long term and developed relationship with your medical professional speeds up help for you. Maybe in lieu of a visit, a call will do. Knowing your history and body, prognoses get made quicker. Having a “true” health professional is such a good thing. Can you imagine determining your health care provider simply on price and not their ability to make you well and keep you healthy?

Right up there with personal health is financial health. Many people and businesses settle for those who are less than knowledgeable about financial matters. These people may go for the rate on a loan or deposit without thinking of other values, such as helping them when bad things happen. They may be working with folks who are not trained or may lack support from management in caring for their customers.

Perhaps they are going to their “financial doctor” simply because they have always gone there even though their “financial doctor” lags in terms of the latest technology to take care of the financial patient. Having a “true” financial professional is a very good thing for people and businesses. I believe that our communities and customers want caring financial professionals. To do that, we must commit ourselves to being that caring financial professional and not just being an order taker.

The (financial) doctor will see you now!

Have a great week! – Leton
