Letters From Leton: Good Things Come in Threes (and Maybe More)!

It’s that time of year. High School and College Graduations abound, taxing our schedules. We attend these tremendous and life-altering events in support of the ones we love and care for, knowing that this is a big step in their life’s journey.

All of this is true. Yet, I am a believer in the lifelong journey of learning, growing, and developing one’s skills. That is why PVB gets our folks involved in any number of training events, schools, and programs. One of the best things we do is to work toward creating independent thinkers, caring bankers, and leaders.

So this spring, we have several of our own “PVB” graduates whom we celebrate.

  • Shawn Porter, our Market Executive for Bristol, just finished the Bristol Executive Leadership Program.
  • Roy Richmond, Vice President in Kingsport, completed the Leadership Kingsport Program.
  • This Wednesday, Mary Beth Baker will complete the Virginia Bankers Association Executive Leadership Program and has been selected by her classmates as their speaker.
  • Soon, Saidee Sexton and Sydney Skeen will graduate from Forward Wise County, the local leadership program.

These folks and their efforts are symbolic of PVB’s commitment to develop not only bankers but also community leaders and influencers.

Many, many others have undertaken and completed these efforts in the past, and their fingerprints are all over so many successful and growing organizations and programs in our region. And many more will do so in the future. The commitment to hiring and developing quality people will always remain a priority at PVB!

Have a great week. – Leton
