PVB Promotes Ted Fields

Jonesville, Virginia– PVB is pleased to announce the promotion of Ted Fields to Chief Banking Officer and Head of Deposit Sales and Operations.

Fields joined PVB in July 2018 as Senior Vice President and Market Executive and was later promoted to Executive Vice President in 2023. Prior to joining PVB Ted spent time working for Pathway Lending, a non-profit commercial finance firm headquartered in Nashville, TN. His role with Pathway was Senior Vice President and Regional Lending Executive, covering the state of Tennessee.

Ted joined TriSummit Bank (De novo at the time) in January 2007 as Senior Vice President and Kingsport Area Manager. He was appointed Executive Vice President in February 2010 and served in this role until December 2016, when the bank was acquired by Home Trust Bank.

Fields began his financial services career in 1988 with Tri-City Bank (First Virginia Bank) as a branch manager and then moved into regional sales management in 1994. He continued to serve in this capacity through the merger with Branch Banking & Trust (BB&T), where he served as Regional Branch Operations Manager, overseeing 32 offices in three states, and Regional Sales Manager until January 2007.

Ted holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from East Tennessee State University and is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Georgetown University and the Southeastern School of Banking at Vanderbilt University.

Ted was recognized in the Tri-Cities Business Journal as a member of the 2004 class of “40 under 40.” Active in the community, he has served as the Board President of United Way of Greater Kingsport, Board Member for the United Way of Bristol TN/VA, Board Member and Past Chair for Kingsport Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Past Chair of Keep Kingsport Beautiful, Advisory Committee for KOSBE, Past Chair for the Wellmont Foundation Board of Governors, Past Board President for Appalachian Division of the March of Dimes, Past Board Member of Holston Valley Hospital, Past Chair of the Ballad Health Foundation, and Past Chair of The Kingsport Neighborhood Commission. Ted is also a member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Kingsport.

Originally from Grundy Virginia, Ted currently lives in Kingsport with his wife Kathy and their two children, Allison and Adam.
