Jonesville, VA – PVB is pleased to announce that Mary Beth Baker, Senior Vice President and Chief Mortgage Officer, has been invited to serve on the Virginia Mortgage Bankers Association Board of Directors.
Baker’s Board of Director’s term will begin in September 2025 and will run for two years. Along with her Board of Director’s term she has joined an elite group of mortgage professionals as she received her Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) Designation from the Mortgage Bankers Association. The CMB Designation is the industry standard for professional success and the highest level of achievement one can attain within the mortgage industry. It is a symbol of respect, credibility, ethics, and achievement within real estate finance.

For the past 30 years, she has served as a Community Banker, devoted to building a reputation based upon professionalism, work ethic, product knowledge, and service excellence. Mary Beth considers it a privilege to serve individuals and families across Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee in pursuing their homeownership dreams. She provides leadership and direction to the Bank’s Mortgage Division, having worked to expand the capability to provide mortgage products which support secondary market lending, and provides greater opportunities in support of the promotion of affordable housing.
Mary Beth is a recent graduate of the Virginia Bankers Association’s Executive Leadership Program. She is a graduate of Tusculum College, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree, in Organizational Management. She is also a graduate of the Virginia Banker’s School of Bank Management.
Baker currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for Virginia Title Center. She is a member of the Blue Ridge Chapter of Mortgage Bankers and will now serve as a member of the Board of Directors for the Virginia Mortgage Bankers Association for the 2026-2027 term.
Mary Beth is a member of the Tennessee Bankers Association Board of Trustees for Lending Schools. She is an active member of the Tennessee Bankers Senior Lending Forums; and she served as a member of Governor’s Lee’s Advisory Panel, for the Small Business Recovery Taskforce. She is a former speaker for the NFIB, National Federation of Independent Business Owners, providing COVID relief guidance in relation to the Small Business Administration’s Payroll Protection Program. She is also privileged to serve her local community as a member of the Lee County Tourism Board.
Mary Beth is a lifelong resident of Lee County. She and her husband, Grant, have two children, Olivia and Walker. The Baker’s are avid golfers and enjoy being active within their church and community.
