Robert C. “Chip” Glover Joins Powell Valley National Bank

Jonesville, Virginia–Powell Valley National Bank (PVB, Bank) is pleased to announce the appointment of industry veteran, Robert C. “Chip” Glover, as Senior Vice President and Chief Banking Officer retained to serve the citizens of Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee, as the bank enhances its products and services offerings.

Glover brings with him nearly four decades of banking and mortgage lending experience where he served more than 20 years in executive management.  Chip has established, developed, and grown mortgage operations and banking relationships for various-sized, regional community banks across the Commonwealth, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer for TowneBank Mortgage in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he retired. 

His dedication to our industry is evidenced with numerous past officer and committee appointments including Past-President of the Virginia Mortgage Bankers’ Association, Former Vice-Chair of the Virginia Bankers Association’s Mortgage Executive Committee, Advisory Board for Capital Markets Cooperative, and Correspondent Advisory Board for SunTrust/Truist Bank.  His commitment to his community is also reflected in his past appointments to various positions including as a former board member of the YMCA of Bristol and Waypoint Church Partners.

A native of Bristol, Tennessee, Glover holds a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate and Urban Development from the University of Tennessee.  Chip and his wife, Peggy, currently reside in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
