PVB Named 2026 Top Virginia Employer for Interns

Jonesville, VA – Powell Valley National Bank (PVB) was recognized as a Top Virginia Employer for Interns for the second consecutive year.

The award, administered by the Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership (V-TOP) in collaboration with the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV), Virginia Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Virginia Business Higher Education Council, recognizes organizations for their commitment to internship programs and talent development.

“These organizations aren’t just hosting interns, they’re building Virginia’s future workforce,” said Alisha Bazemore, Ph.D., assistant director of innovative work-based learning initiatives. “Their leadership is opening doors for students to gain meaningful experience and launch successful careers.”

This year’s award recognized 161 businesses across Virginia who provide high-quality internships to students. PVB was recognized, in part because of the following criteria:

  • Exposure to senior leadership
  • Structured mentorship programs
  • Professional development

  • Hands-on experiences

“PVB is honored to be recognized as a Top Virginia Employer for Interns,” said Leton L. Harding, Jr., President & CEO of PVB. “Investing in interns is an investment in not only the future of our industry but also our communities. We are proud to provide an internship program that reinforces the importance of investing time, knowledge, and opportunities into developing the next generation of community bankers.”
