Jonesville, Virginia – PVB is pleased to announce Ionel Plesnecute has joined the bank as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Ionel joins PVB from Wells Fargo with nearly 19 years of experience in credit risk management, analytics, and portfolio strategy. He has held multiple positions within the credit risk organization. Throughout his tenure, Ionel has led key initiatives that enhanced recovery, remarketing, and collections operations across multi-billion-dollar portfolios, driving measurable improvements in efficiency and performance. Prior to his time at Wells Fargo, Ionel worked for James Polk Stone Community Bank in Portales, New Mexico.

Earlier in his career, Ionel served as Financial and Credit Manager, where he gained extensive experience in financial analysis and reporting, compliance, and credit portfolio management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from “Lower Danube University” in Romania (2000), and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Eastern New Mexico University (2004). In addition, he graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado in 2007 and earned his Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification in 2015. Ionel brings a strong analytical background complemented by advanced technical expertise and a data-driven approach to strategic decision-making.
Ionel currently resides in Johnson City with his wife, Anca, and their two cats. Outside of work, he enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, and gardening.
