Jonesville, VA – Powell Valley National Bank (PVB, Bank) is pleased to announce the promotion of Aaron Hicks to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Hicks joined PVB in 2017 as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Aaron has over 15 years of accounting experience in community banking. In addition to positions in accounting, Aaron has also led committees focused on business continuity, enterprise risk management, and vendor management. During his time at PVB, he facilitated the deployment of a new business continuity plan, one that has been instrumental for bank operations during the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition to his role of Chief Financial Officer, Aaron also oversees the bank’s compliance and BSA department, along with deposit operations, and accounts payable.
Aaron is a graduate of the Virginia Bankers Association’s (VBA) School of Bank Management, and currently serves on the VBA’s CFO Committee. Outside of bank activities, Aaron has served as a recreation committee board member for the Town of Abingdon and was a challenge coordinator for Highlands Soccer Club. Aaron is a volunteer hunter safety instructor for the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. He is a member of the Ruffed Grouse Society.

Aaron is a native of Washington County, Virginia. He holds an undergraduate accounting degree from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. He and his wife, Nikki, have one son, Tristan, and they reside in Abingdon, VA.
